Cute babies!!!

And yes, y'all is a contraction. My aunt uses "you'uns" a lot, we think it means something like Y'all plus 3.

Living on a retirement income I always have more month than money, and that tends to make temptation less tempting.
Yesterday was certainly a nice day. My oldest son Joe, who lives just west of Branson, Mo, had a business meeting in Lansing. When his meeting concluded I picked him up and he spent the night with us. Later this morning I will take him to Detroit Metro to fly home. He has a ridiculous work schedule selling dog food, but a makes an incredible amount of money, so I guess it's worth it. Hope made her typical fantastic supper, sweet & sour venison roast, buttered spatzle w/breadcrumbs, and a corn & sweet pepper cassarolle. Dave and Amy joined use for dinner and it was great to have 2 of my sons sticking their feet under my table once again. Kinda of funny though, realizing that your "little boys" are getting gray hair. Life sure is good.
Just heard the weather report for Detroit- high today of 25. That means it will be colder here. Come on April.

i hear ya, Opa! it's gonna be cold in the D!

how nice that your boys were home with you for supper!

spatzle! my fave! ever since i went to Germany and Austria, my absolute favorite!

April, where are you???? i know, right after March...

Opa, since you're a Grandpa and a Dad, could you use your 'Authority' voice and tell the chicks that are hatching to 'get outta there, already!'? i am getting, um....impatient!

the EE's are doing GREAT! all jumping and lively! growing a ton already!

Having a deep voice and having been a drill sergeant in the Army I can project what I am told is a commanding voice. I have tried on several occasions using it to get the rest of my chickens to start laying. Given the fact that it hasn't worked on full grown birds, I doubt that it will work on chicks either.

my uncle was a drill sergeant also...from the diaphragm, please..."You ladies wanna sit around sleeping when you could be hatching? Do you? DO YOU?"

"Peep, peep....Yes Drill Saaaaaargeant!"

"Do you kiss your Momma's with those beaks?" "Drop and give me ten eggs!"
