EE's Not laying after molt!

My EE's stopped laying completely during winter. I think the last eggs I got were in November. Just Freeloaders right now

Try putting a light on a timer to trick them into summer mode? I have 10 chickens with 7 eggs a day average and it was a high of 14 deg today! My 30 watt bulb is on a timer that comes on from 4am to 8am. I got a few extra timers this year after christmas they were cheap, Christmas light timers work great made to be outside and in the cold. I know our local Walgreens still had some just last week normaly $20 on sale for less than $5

My EE started her molt in October and I haven't had an egg since. She may be freeloading right now, but she makes me laugh, so I continue to spoil her. My RIR only took a month break during molt.

My EE and two buffs went into molt in December. Yesterday, the EE laid her first egg since November and the buffs have laid 4 this week. We are very cold and cloudy here in MN, I'm sure my hens will start laying again regularly as the weather warms up. Interestingly, my little silkies have laid every other day all winter! I do not use artificial lights to stimulate laying and only have one black heat bulb for warmth in the coop.

I have two EE's and they are 8-9 months old. One of them FINALLY laid her first egg Saturday. I have been blessed with one Sunday and one yesterday. I thought 8 months was kinda old for a pullet to start laying but I'm just happy that she started.
