I have 3 EE pullets that started laying about 6 wks ago.
They all started with very tiny pullet eggs and were slow
to increase in size. They just started to get a little bigger and
BAMB 2 of them quit laying altogether. They other slowed to
one or 2 a week. One started back after a week and they other
waited 2 1/2 weeks without an egg. It finally started back the
other day but went back to a very small egg again. Whats
that all about? Why would the egg deminish in size?

Has anyone else had that experince? They have added light
in the morning so I don't think that was it.

I think that the amount of feed is related to the size of the egg. Since there are fewer hours of light in fall/winter, they have less time to be active and thus eat. Some reduction in egg size because of this would be normal IMO. I noticed today that my Golden Comet, who usually produces an egg about 2.5 ounces (plus or minus a little ) produced one that was 2.3 and some fraction ounces.
