I tried a search for efficiency comparisons and didn't see what I was looking for. I"m just curious if anyone has done and egg production efficiency comparison for bantam flocks compared to full sized Hens. Based on feed consumption to egg's produced probably at a rate of three bantam eggs to two Normal eggs. This isn't a serious concern for me we have both and will continue to have both Just got a new coop shed delivered so I can expand my Bantam capacity and set them up a permanent run and then see if I can figure out a way to free range them without losing them all to predators.

But at any rate I"m curious and welcome educated guesses, shots in the dark or anything you all are willing and able to provide. as far as comparisons.

My two 1 lb Seramas give me eggs at about 27g, which is right about half the size of a commercial large-sized egg.

Their first lay cycle before going broody, I got about 4 eggs a week from each of them. I expect the size and frequency will increase a little when they start laying again.

I go through about 3 lbs of crumble a month between them, plus a pound or so of scratch, and buggy treats.

Basically they are *ridiculously* efficient for their size.
