Hello,

I'm trying to make an egg turner using a 1 RPM motor. If the motor turns my eggs every couple minutes continuously for 18/19 days, will it damage the egg or will it still hatch? Any guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks.

I guess you could wire your motor(egg turner) to your light, if your light is wired into a thermostat. That way the eggs would only turn when the light comes on to heat the incubator.

I would contact Cbiblis <[email protected]> and ask him about his electronic thermostat/motor controller for incubators. The thermostat is excellent and the motor controller powers a 6v dc motor, and is set to turn the trays 1 turn per hr, 24turns per day.
Best solution on the market for the DIY incubator builders.

I don't know about the chicks, but that would seem like torture to me...Dramamine, anyone?

1 RPM is slow for a motor, but when it comes to eggs it is quite fast. Consider this speed vs the Hova Bator/Little Giant Egg Turners 1/240 RPM. You could consider using a simple timer for chistmas lights or something similar to turn the motor on and off.
