I tried the Prep H overnight because her cloaca was so swollen already. I was hoping to minimize tissue swelling in case that made it easier for the egg to pass.

I wonder if the end of the egg was still attached to the end of her reproductive tract? I could NOT put my finger around the end of the egg. I could palpate the whole thing and the tip of the egg wasn't even a fingertip from being out.

Prep H is to reduce swelling ... with a swollen vent it would have been next to impossible for the bird to pass any sort of egg without prolapsing even further

You did the right thing using the Prep H
