Egg bound hen

Please see pic attached showing the huge number of eggs in my 3 yr old hen. She was walking like a penguin. Suffering terribly . So we put her put of her misery. I did not know for sure what was causing her suffering.. So opened her up & saw the unbelievable amount of partially developed eggs. Greater than 100.

That looks crazy.

But do eggs have that many blood vessels going to them?

Kind of looks tumorish?

Wow is there anything you can do if a chicken is egg bound or do u have to cull them?

I guess a vet could do something? But then again it is just a chicken? I saw in another thread how someone had a $600 vet bill for a chicken. To each his/her own but to me I could just replace it with another $3.50 chick. Thats why you don't name your food.

Lol I unfortunately name all my chickens they taste better that way. Lol
