We have a sick hen. Shiny has all the signs of being egg bound- lethargic, penguin walk, etc.
Her back side is puffy, and I don't see that listed as a symptom. I felt inside with a gloved finger, and can't feel an egg.
We gave her a bath and fed her extra calcium (pic is my son giving her crushed Tums) and have her in a cage in the basement. Other ideas?
Edit to add: I had had one die of egg yolk peritonitis and this one does not have egg-yolk looking poop, so I don't think it is that. Her crop feels empty, but he rear end feels very puffy.
