Will an egg bound hen still be able to poop a normal looking poop? I have a hen that has been in the nesting box all day trying to lay. I finally took her in and gave her a warm bath, which she totally relaxed in for 15 minutes. I'm not sure what's wrong her? She's still eating, but she's worried about sitting in the nesting box. I can't feel an egg at all, but she's all red/swollen below her vent area. Shes not prolapsed. She's still pooping solid poop. Anybody have any ideas??? She's only 17 months old.

Swollen area under vent.

That looks sore, poor thing. I doubt it is egg binding, if you can't feel it, but it could be egg yolk peritonitis or a broken egg inside of her. She may need antibiotics.

She didn't lay yesterday, it does look sore, I feel so bad for her. What kind of antibiotics?
