Egg break inside / soft shell

My chickens were locked out of their coop yesterday by accident. Genny was the only hen who hadn’t laid an egg beforehand. This morning after going inside at bedtime she had eggy butt and there were eggy poops in the coop. She is soaking right now. Her vent is pulsing. I read somewhere about flushing the vent with vinegar. Does anyone have advice? Also should I use a gloved hand to look inside her vent? Advice please. This is my first year of chickens and I haven’t encountered this before.

Good mornimg, I'm sorry to hear your hen isn't doing well.
Being lock out of the coop didn't do this, a chicken will lay were she finds a spot.
Why is she soaking?
Have you seen the egg shell?
You might have to lube a finger or wear exam gloved and gently feel for it.

She is soaking because her butt was eggy this AM and I didn’t really know what else to do. She’s out in a towel now (inside)

No I did not see any egg shell.

A calcium citrate supplement (or Tums) once a day for a few days might help her sort out her egg laying.

Is she acting normal, eating and drinking or does she seems sick?

She ate a meal worm I gave her. Of course I’m out. She’s not eating or drinking right now but I did just bathe her and check her vent so idk if that’s enough to make her stressed and not eat.

This was what came out when I checked her vent. Didn’t feel anything. She’s mostly dry after bath in the picture. She doesn’t look great but also doesn’t constantly have tail or head down.

How old is she? Check her belly between her legs and vent for swelling when you get home. Reproductive issues often require antibiotics (Baytril or amoxicillin) but even then the hen sometimes doesn't recover...

She was born the very end of March started laying beginning of Sept. I’m home now thankfully off work. Not really sure what swelling feels like but I’ll give it a check.

You can compare with your other girls if you need, but if she is feels squishy in the back like a water balloon or firm but lumpy she may have egg yolk peritonitis which is a larger issue than just one shell-less or broken egg.
