Chirping
My 1 year old orpington hen just pooped out egg whites/yolks while she was perched for bed. She got down to go lay in the nesting box right after and I noticed egg membrane sticking out of her vent. I gently pulled two very large pieces of egg membrane and her vent looks clear now.
I'm worried the egg broke inside her, however, and that she now has egg shells stuck inside. I didn't see any shells in her poop or in her vent, but her vent is open a little and she is laying in her nesting box trying to lay.
I'm going to be giving her calcium citrate but I'm not sure what else to do.
I'm in california so it's impossible to get her antibiotics without a vet visit which would be a week away if I'm lucky.
I'm mostly worried about infection. She seemed to have her energy up and was eating/drinking/pooping just fine all day until just now when they went to bed..
Any advice is appreciated...
