egg candler?

[chicks for better health]

I am having trouble candling my brown eggs. I can't see anything at all inside. Any thoughts. I am using a 50000 candle power spot light with a piece of cardboard with a 1/2" hole over it.

chicks for better health, just buy a LED flashlight, I can see the inside of a Cuckoo Maran egg with mine

LED lights don't heat up at all. They have a super bright light that shines right through eggs up to a Cuckoo Maran's eggs.

I use the swirly bulbs like the one in the first picture because they don't put off as much heat as an incandescent bulb..

yeah the swirly bulbs are the only kind i use in my house.. but idk what id connect the bulb to? i cant like take the base and everything off the ceiling.. haha
