I am at day 4 and 1/2 and had a few questions about candling. I have been candling daily to try and learn and get experience under my belt. Today was the first day I really SAW obvious changes in some of my eggs. Most of them have a cloudy mass taking up most of the egg. If I look VERY closely, I can somewhat make out a small dark dot. Most of the eggs have a dark dot about the size of my pinky tip. I assume these are healthy, developing embryos. However, a few looked similar but the dot was even smaller. The dot was maybe 1/4 the size of my pinky tip. Are these just late bloomers, or are these blood spots? My camera was not good enough to pick up on what I am talking about. However, here is one of the eggs with the larger dot. Most of my eggs looked like this. Sorry, the camera is BAD. It is more clear to me, but the camera just annot pick it up well. I circled wher I can obviously see a dark spot.
I also had two or three that looked porous. Are these too porous to be good? I can see cloudy masses in most of the porous looking eggs. Are they okay to leave in the bator?
And, one or two looked like this. Is this a dud?
Thanks! I will try to candle again at day 7 or 8. This is all so much fun! I am really learning a lot. This is my first set of eggs ever.
