Egg Candling

Hatch day today and we had one successful hatch! Will leave it in there for the next day or so. Two more eggs left to go and no movement so far, so a bit nervous now

is there a reason you want to leave the chick in there for a day or two? If you have a brooder ready, it would actually be easier to move the chick there as soon as dry-- before any others begin hatching.
Would also give you the opportunity to check on the remaining eggs

Well, the chick isn’t dry yet.
I was also told it’s best not to open the brooder if you can help it, also the chick will help encourage the other eggs to hatch.

Opening the incubator is fine if its brief. My point is that it would be better to open it before the other eggs start to hatch
The chick can "encourage" the others, but often (especially in small bators), they just get in the way. You can of course leave the chick in, thats safe, I'm just letting you know that you dont need to

Right, I just figured I’d wait, at least for now since it hasn’t dried off yet and I haven’t seen external pipping, rocking, peeping, etc from any of the others

Congrats on the first hatcher btw!
If there are cool spots in the incubator, the renaining eggs may be slower. Hopefully you see some encouraging signs soon!

Well, we ended up with three very cute little fluffers! Thank you all for the support on the journey. It will be exciting to see how they grow up.
