Egg Carton HELP

Quote:
in WA state, no, not at a farmers market anyway. Anything sold at a location other than where the egg was laid must be sold in a new carton. If the carton is a new misprinted carton, that's ok.

I ordered a 1600ct bundle and with shipping it breaks down to about .31 each. These are printed cartons. Eggboxes had some (2000 pack) that broke down to .21 each (blank cartons).

Ah. You did more research than I did!

Our local Agway stocks them for $0.29 each. I'm not sure if they'd get them in bulk for you or not. I've never bought them, I've just noticed them there.

I re-use local cartons. My sister works in a local veterans' home and they save all their egg cartons for me. If I'm taking them to sell to the farmer's market I'm dealing with, I print out labels that have our name and address, phone number, etc., and place it over the brand name, so there's no troubles.

Good luck-
Em

I get all my egg cartons and supplies from EggCartons.com. They always go the extra mile for me. Answer my questions, even help me find products that I need that they dont carry on other peoples web pages. Make sure to sign up for that newsletter every now and again they have specials..sometimes free shipping.. other times free gifts..and such.

I have ordered from other online stores before (ahem... eggboxes.com) and the service was horrible.

I was just thinking along these same lines. 92Caddy ~~ how about selling your eggcartons here on the BYC ? I know I'd be interested in a reasonable price !

We are going to the same : try free range chicken eggs, and while reusing cartons is allowable in PA, I thought using our own cartons would make it easier to market to some other types of venues. A new carton at .20-.30 adds a lot to a $2.00 or $3.00 dozen of eggs. I'd also thought about 'discount for returning cartons' but many of our customers do it now for free (and often get us additional used cartons from others).

FYI, Media Mail is used for books, film, manuscripts, printed music, printed test materials, sound recordings, play scripts, printed educational charts, loose-leaf pages and binders consisting of medical information, videotapes, and computer-recorded media like CDs and diskettes. Media Mail cannot contain advertising) ~ note that magazines do not qualify for media mail). Using media mail for anything else is a federal offense. Post office has become very careful about 'media mail' shipping because of so much misuse. And while the worst that would probably happen is that the shippee would get the package with POSTAGE DUE, it is not a good practice.
