Egg Carton HELP

When I started selling eggs I priced them at $2.25 per dozen. Then I ran out of egg cartons since I didn't buy store eggs anymore! So, if customer brought me an empty carton when buying eggs from me the dozen was only $2.00. I'm not trying to be a millionaire, just enjoy my chickens and share the rewards. They pay for their own feed and give us lots in return.

As others have stated here, the eggboxes and eggboxes online website are scam-type companies. eggcartons.com seems the legit one (from what I'm reading here).

I'll be getting into quail soon and mini egg cartons will be something I'm looking into making. There's no way I'm going to pay ridiculous prices for egg-shaped paper pulp. Maybe I'm not seeing it, I'm new here after all, but it's weird to imagine so many DIY hen-keepers choosing to buy when they can just make a simple pattern for super cheap mats. :S

What about paper machet? (Sorry about spelling on that) I am going to use blown egg shells to shape them and newspaper with flour water. Once they are dry I plan to cover the carton with pretty fabric. Perfectly personalized and doesn't cost much!

Update on my experience with eggboxes.com:

After sending an email to eggboxes.com and following up with a voicemail in which I vaguely threatened "legal action," I received my cartons as ordered. I placed my order on April 11, and received my shipment on May 4. I never received an email or return phone call from them -- just an automated email on the day that I placed my order.

Hi QuailSong,

I am also in Eastern Ontario. You could try Ritchies Feed and Seed. I get egg cartons from them at $75 for 200. They do not stock them though. You have to order them and it may take several weeks for them to be delivered. It takes forever to use them up, but at least they look good.

Thank you for the company name, Eggsaggerate. However, I doubt I will waste my money doing what I could do essentially for free, or a few nickels. My profession is in sculpture-making (among other artist things) so papermache and the likes come easily to me. Should be the same for others, I assume most people played w/ papermache as kids.

To make custom cartons all I need is to make a dozen positive molds, then goop w/ papermache lining + air circulation to dry. Materials can be 'free' from cardboard scraps, paper shredder (which I have), and natural 'glues' (flour).

Instead of spending $75 for pre-made cartons, I could use that for something else quail-related. Like more herbs or berry bushes to plant around the run. :)

Hi Ed,
You wouldn't happen to have any of those egg cartons left that you bought. I'm from Celina, OH and I am looking for 12 count egg carton. If you do have some yet, I would be interested in them.
Thank you,
V Nuding
