Is it normal to see no air cell if I candle before setting the eggs?

The older the egg the larger the air cell. You have fresh eggs if no air cell or your nearing the end of hatch and they have started to internally pip filling the air cell with head. I've had them internally pip as early as day 18 then hatch day 20.

Thanks. I thought I saw a tiny air cell in one of the 16 eggs when I first candled them this morning. I will check again in a few days.

agree, the fresher the egg the smaller the cell!
