Egg cells slant good but no signs of movement

So is it along the air cell line of the egg? Where the two meet? If so, it should be ok.. he will work his way around... The thing I watch for now is progress and if he doesn't make any progress in zipping around then u might need to do something...

Sorry, I missed your post. No, I had the air cell facing up and pip was on the opposite side into the paper liner on the bottom of the incubator. I couldn't turn it over because that's the heavy side where the chick is and it just rolled back. So I propped it on its side, up against my hygrometer so it could get air. I'm going to candle now for movement and put it on a moist paper towel. I've never had a chick not pip into the air cell, so this is a first for me. Any & all help is greatly appreciated.

He's chirping!!! I put a moist paper towel under the egg. Humidity is 75%. So I will just wait now, right? No other internal pips yet on the other eggs. Day 27 is this evening. So it's technically still day 26 for a few more hrs. (Just trying to give as much info as possible). So happy to hear him chirping!!

@DylansMom does that pip look a bit low on the egg to you?
Yes, it does, and the OP knows it pipped away from the air cell. I've been advising best I can, as it has happened to me twice. Chick will probably need assistance to hatch, but this pip just occurred this morning, so its still early.

The paper towel is making the humidity climb. It's already up to 80%, is that ok??
That's fine, 80% at this time (day26-27) should not cause any problems. Very glad to hear it is chirping!

I made a tiny safety hole in the air cell, incase he starts turning. It was super hard to break into.
400

But a piece of shell fell off from the original pip. Now more outer membrane is exposed.

He is still chirping. It's been at least 12 hours since first pip. Will he be ok until morning with this membrane exposed? I got a quick peek at the inner membrane. It was paper white. But I did not make the hole big enough to moisten it.

Having that membrane exposed is not a problem. If you moisten a q-tip and dab that inner membrane you will see it become clear. If the chick is yellow, the blood vessels are easy to see, if its a brown chick you may need a strong mini flash to spot them against the dark background of the chick. Next year when I assist I will have to take a bunch of pics they would probably come in handy at times like these. Give him at least 12 hrs more. Mine are almost always 24 hrs between ext. pip and unzipping. By the way, congrats on hatching Peas in that tiny incubator, I never would have thought that would work.

Ok. Thank you! Will you be around in the morning? If there is no progress in the morning should I pull down that outer membrane and wet the inner membrane and look for veins? He looks dark. He's a black shoulder/Indian blue. I have a good led flashlight. The Brinsea mini is working great!! Thank you so much for your help!!!
