I was just curious about egg coloring?
I know sometimes egg colors can be funky.
My Wellsummers will lay super dark eggs (sometimes as dark as the BCMs)
but other times, the eggs will be very light, with speckles and then all of a sudden, WHAM! The egg color will have a spot where it's darker?
LOL They hatch out alright, but was wondering if this is just an egg deal?

Also, sometimes darker eggs get scratched up; because the color hasn't fully dried. Is this normal?
I've spoken to people that this happens with BCMs because the color is much darker than the color underneath it.

Note: The eggs get darker as the hens have to retain them longer inside (at least, what's what research says) hence the darker color in Winter (less eggs, but holding the eggs longer).
    Any information?
