I don't believe that's either a Brown Leghorn(no white earlobes-legs too dark) or a pure Ameraucana(plumage off, legs appear too light)
That's for sure!! Ameraucana and Araucana is one of the most misused breed names.Yep. The reason you didn't get green egg laying offspring is because your rooster is not Ameraucana. He might not even have Easter Egger in him. When it comes to Ameraucana, you can not take a 'breeders' word that the birds are what they claim to be. Sad, but true. Educate yourself and familiarize yourself with what examples of the breed look like. It's a buy-beware market these days, with how popular backyard chicken keeping has become.

They will the blue shell genes can be the tricky ones, especially if depending on the cockbird side for them.Thank you Aart. I could not care less if it was a tru breed or not. For the most part i breed Birds for meat and eggs. The majority of which I donate to a local food pantry. I did see in a number of places that mating a bird with genes for blue to one with genes for Brown wood produce green egg layers. I did not know if I misunderstood, or if mybird was not what I was told it was.
