Egg color

    If an ameraucana (sp?) hatched from a blue egg will they lay a blue egg? I'm beginning to think I hatched EEs not what I was sold.

    It depends on what color egg genes the rooster is carrying also.

    Where did you get the eggs you hatched? If you don't feel like sharing on the forum you can pm me.

    They're just some eggs I got last November off ebay. They were supposed to be Ameraucana not EEs and the eggs I got were all blue. But from the amount of pullet eggs I started getting this week or so I think some of them have to be laying too and so far they're just varying shades of brown. I do have a couple of little araucana pullets, but they're too young to lay yet.
