egg coloring

if i decide to let my chickens hatch eggs this spring. my rooster is a silver ameraucana. my hens are brown egg layers. what color eggs would my babies lay.

Thats a tough question!!

That happened to me twice!!!

The first time we had a rooster that laid white eggs and an hen that laid dark brown eggs.
<we let them hatch and the offspring later went on to lay a tinted egg>

But then next time we had a rooster that laid white eggs and we had a bird that laid greenish eggs.
<Once again we let them hatch and the offspring went on to lay pure white eggs>

So from my expierience i have come to conclude that it really matters on the situation because its different each time.

they should be olive eggers...
