Ok
not should where to post this ;
but here my Question , it seems that most people want for eating not hatching ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,large brown eggs , why I'm not sure -I have a few of large &, med. white egg layers------some Large and med. brown egg layers and also some light brown eggs layers , soon to be having some blue / green layers and also some dark egg-layers eggs for sale .

Why is it that most people want the Larger Brown EGGS OVER THE REST ...................................
I collect what eggs that are laid that day - wash them and just place them in the doz. count Egg cartons and sell them as there are up at the road side on top of my drive way .................... but it seem some will take out all the other colorized eggs from the carton and just take the brown eggs ............................MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Why .................it don’t matter what color the egg shell is, all eggs taste the same , color don’t matter ................whats up with this Sh#@!

Even with egg shell color whats nexts

I don't know...I give away white and brown eggs to my neighbors and family. But almost no one wants to take the green ones. The act like they are rotten or something.

I think people associate white eggs with grocery store eggs. And some people still believe the brown ones are better.

Some people are convinced that brown eggs are somehow healthier for you. That's why the organic or "free range" eggs you see in the store are almost always brown.

Why can't people just under stand that it's just the shell color , the inside is all the same and taste the same ................................I think some are just brain wash or judge the outside color with out looking into what really matters, the inside .........................

Where have I heard / seen this from be4

Don't people know Color only matters with there TV 'S ........................They don't judge the color of grass - trees - flowers - MMMMMMMMMMMMM Chickens - Turkeys -Ducks ..........Do I need to say any more ...................................................NOT

I have heard all sorts of reasons over the years why folks want brown eggs over any other color. My wife is from New England and she says for years they had an ad campaign going up there with a jingle that said "brown eggs are local eggs and local eggs are fresh!" That might account for some of it.

There's also the fact that the most efficient egg layers are Leghorns and they lay white eggs. They account for most of the commercial egg industry and have for many decades now so they are mostly what is available in the grocery stores. Folks want eggs they believe are different and better than the factory eggs from the store and they believe brown eggs are what they are after. Now the fact that brown eggs can and are produced the very same way the white factory eggs are does not seem to have occurred to many of them. And the fact that white eggs can be produced the very same way "farm fresh" brown eggs are.

Green and blue eggs are common to use poultry enthusiasts but they are exotic and alien to many folks who know nothing of poultry so they are naturally going to be slow to accept them. It takes time to educate customers and if you aren't speaking with them face to face it's going to be hard to do that.

If it were me I'd put up a small sign asking the customers to please not mix and match the eggs.

Hello A.T. Hagan-.............. Alan

that is so true.
but when most new Englanders buy store bought eggs yes there Brown Eggs
but when there go to any type of fast food or dinners for breakfast there getting white eggs , why I know this I was a cook many -many years ago (some 30+ yr s .)
I worked at a few dinners and restaurants for almost 10 yrs as a head cook /chief . and we purchase white eggs , where most people would buy store eggs which where Brown eggs so color really don’t matter ..............
Like you stated most have this in there heads that brown eggs taste better and are local which is not true form a mini farmer view

Thanks Alan

A prevalent misconception out here is that white eggs from the store are bleached brown eggs. Lots of people out here don't want their food bleached and want the brown eggs.

Green/blue? I was asked if they had green/blue whites or yolks. People are afraid of odd colored foods. I fixed a dutch baby for a quilting group the other day and made sure to bring only my green/blue eggs to teach them that they were just regular eggs. They were awestruck that the eggs were normal inside and tasted better than their store bought eggs.
