anyway my 2 8yrs boys, picked a chicken each, one is a black star and really friendly girl, the other is a wyanotte a silver laced I think!
but the dilema I'm having is that although im getting 2 eggs

Im not sure whos laying what,

any input woud be greatly appreciated

Blue green eggs are only from EE chickens and their purebred forefathers

do you have a pic of the birds?

Definitely an Easter Egger you've got there.

They're sold as Ameracaunas, but they're not.
Be glad! You've got ready-made Easter eggs. Plus, EEs are a whole lot prettier than Ameracauanas.

Ameracaunas are purebred chickens, while Easter Eggers are apparently crossbreeds. How they are crossbred I do not know... it has not been made clear to me.
I do know that Ameracaunas are a single color, while EEs can have several variations. Mine have gray, gold, lavender, and several other colors on them. Purebred Ameracaunas will only be black, for instance. Or orange, or white....

Also, Ameracaunas only lay blue eggs. EEs lay blue OR green eggs.
