My four ladies are having an egg laying contest. Results so far: RIR out in front with consistent 40 eggs in 42 days (only missing two days the first week) and yes she is bragging about it. White leghorn in second with 35 eggs in 37 days. I know that actually makes it a tie for first but I give RIR extra points for laying first. Australorp just started laying (same age as others) but is in third with 10 eggs in 17 days including 1 double yolk and last but not least our NHR with a more spotty 29 out of 42 days, but she HAS given us 6 double yolks. Love those yummy eggs.
