I’m sorry for the bad picture but its so difficult with such a thick shell. Anyway, last year was my first year with chickens and turkeys I learned a lot but still have problems…like this one.
The Turkeys just started laying the beginning of December, which is winter here in New York. They are 8 months old both female. I didn’t see the harm and letting her keep her nest because she got very vocal when you walked near it, I didn’t think she’d become broody but she did. I started to take away eggs slowly fearing she’d get weak and cold staying broody on infertile eggs.
Now she does live in my barn and isn’t exposed to the elements and I hand feed her to make sure she eats and give her water.
I have successfully gotten all the eggs but one out, cracked them open, no veins, no development. I even put chicken eggs under to let her hatch something and stop being broody.

This is a picture of the last Turkey egg. My lights aren’t high powered but is this a development infertile egg or bacteria? Id say shes been sitting for at least two weeks now.

if your positive your girls are girls then its just the nasty stuff in a rotten egg

Without a male..it’s impossible to have fertilised eggs. Are you 100% sure your girls are girls? If so, it is impossible to have a fertile egg.

Rotten egg. Get rid of it before it explodes.

I thought that too but I read theres a rare thing in turkeys were they can, but ya’know the internet will give you all kinds of answers now a days
If you do the right search it will turn up a study that was done with Beltsville Small White turkeys.

Any poults that hatch from parthenogenesis will be male.
