I have a hen that is eating eggs shell and all. The only remaining evidence is egg yolk on the bedding in the laying box. Problem is I don't know which of the girls is doing it.

why w3ould they eat eggs? They are well fed, watered and get lots of oyster shell, grit and fresh vegis to eat.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, did she just start laying? When mine first started, they would push all the bedding around inside the nest and then lay on bare wood, lots of broken eggs. They will eat broken eggs. If she's just eating them, you may look into getting a nest box that has a roll away feature so after she lays, it rolls down a ramp where she can't reach it. Good luck to you.

take the one out you think it is then give her oyster shells for about 2 weeks and layer pellets and water and then put her back in the pen
