EGG EXPLODED during my hatch!

How do you know which eggs are bad? I put eggs in last Wednesday AM and have noticed a odd smell in my incubator the last day or so. I will candle them this evening, I'm not sure what I am looking for tho.

Pick every egg up and snift it. If one is bad you will find it.

Thats awful, but they don't call rotten eggs stink bombs for nothing.

Well, out of 28 eggs 3 of them whiffed, oh my!!!! Oh we do the three whiff test, my husband (farm boy) me (city girl) and my 10 year old daughter (future tractor wrencher and farmer, lest that's what she says)

I don't see any veining in 8 of them, they didn't smell so I put them back in with ?'s on them, I hope the next time I candle them, I will be able to see some veining. Its pretty hard to tell because they were EE's
