We live miles away from anyone. I have 4 chickens, going away for 4 days.

I personally would let them build up, and get rid of them when I return, though if it isn't too warm the eggs may be fine. How many nestboxes?

We have 2 large nest boxes. I thought if they break, they would start eating them creating a whole new problem.

That is always a possibility. Otherwise you are going to have to employ someone or make those roll away nest inserts.
