Trying to come up with a way to collect eggs while away. Auto feeders and watering are already there.

Roll away nests? And a willing collector?

This is my favorite roll away nest insert. It's so easy to adapt any nest to a roll away.

    How many birds?
How many nests do they use?
How long will you be away?

I like that vid too, thinking of trying that version. Gotta wonder tho, when the hen steps on the basket part, does it tip?

I find someone is always ready to lend a hand for a few days for the eggs they will get!

We live miles away from anyone. I have 4 chickens, going away for 4 days.

I personally would let them build up, and get rid of them when I return, though if it isn't too warm the eggs may be fine. How many nestboxes?

We have 2 large nest boxes. I thought if they break, they would start eating them creating a whole new problem.

That is always a possibility. Otherwise you are going to have to employ someone or make those roll away nest inserts.
