Egg hatch help

@http://www.backyardchickens.com/u/342087/rubynala97 I did the float test and the egg did a low float, completely vertical. Does this mean it is no good? I thought I saw somewhere that it should angle slightly at this stage.

I believe that means that the air cell did not drawn down on the egg and it probably quit late. No movement when it floated? Healthy eggs will start to wiggle in the water. But not always. Give it a good candling in a dark place. Don't hold to much hope for it but see if you can spot any movement inside the egg. It's probably a goner though. Sorry. :hugs
 
No it didn't. we have a chick that the mother pecked half the head and the skin is gone. what can we do?
