Egg hatch humidity level...

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X3 on try posting in the Incubating Eggs forum. Are you keeping track of the size of the aircells and/or the weight loss of the eggs? You may need to run a dehumidifier in the room the eggs are in if you can't get the humidity to acceptable levels any other way.

Sorry about your hatching problems. That's one reason some people just wait for a hen to go broody and give her eggs to hatch. Often silkies are bought for this purpose alone because they tend to go broody often and make good mothers.

I don't mean to butt in but I was hoping you're able to help me. I just started my first hatch. When my humidity is high, close to 50%, my temperature drops, so I take some of the water out but and the temperature rises back to 99.5 °F but my humidity then drops to approximately 34%. Which is better? Higher humidity lower temp or lower humidity higher temp?

That is strange, are you adding hot water? If you have to choose I'd pick 99.5 and 34% humidity which doesn't sound to bad (at least with my incubator). Or you could try adding a wet sponge and see if the temp stays and humidity rises.
