I have an egg that was laid on the 15th of last month. I have read that incubation period is only 21 days, it is well past that...I can candle the egg and see the bird in there and sometimes moves. Why wont it hatch???

Your incubator temperature must be low. Did you calibrate it first? At this point all you can do is wait. Either it will hatch or it won't.

I'm assuming this is a chicken egg?

This egg is a chicken egg yes, however, just last week I hatched 4 guinea eggs right on time. The temp has never changed according to the thermometer.

I just don't have it in me to toss it, I can see it moving in there, its little foot anyways....idk what to do??? perhaps a very late bloomer? how long should I keep it?

ok I just candled again...I can see the chick in there and its moving, this is my first chicken egg, it looks totally different than my guinea eggs when I candled them, in the chicken egg I can see several "veins" and a larger dark one, I'm assuming the "cord"? I tried tapping on the air sack to get a peep but nothing, however when I turn the egg I can see the bird jerking around....
