just wondering what type of quail these came from.

Possibly buttons, but it's hard to tell how big they are from the picture and I don't know if there are other quail that lay eggs of that color. If they are less than 1 inch long, they are button quail eggs.
 
Define thin shelled? They are not as thick as chicken egg shells and how thick they are depends on how well the hen is supplemented with calcium. Insufficient calcium means the shells break easily.
