Do I need two quail pens?

New quail owner, recently bought five hens plus a cage and would like to eventually get a rooster and hatch eggs so we can harvest quail for meat. But I wonder if people keep their breeding stock in a separate cage from their meat birds? I realize baby quail will need to be separated for a while anyway. What is the recommended practice for this? For those that raise quail for meat, what is your setup?

I keep my breeding sets in permanent pens, the extra males that I'm going to eat go into a growout pen as temporary quarters. Since I butcher at about 8 weeks, they only spend a few weeks in the growout pen.
