Well it is day 22 and i have two chicks already...there are three eggs left in the bator...they are all white, but one of them looks like at the top half of it is turning a blackish color...is it bad...nothing smells bad?

i dont have an answer, but i can tell you the same thing happened to me, one of the eggs hatched and one didnt, so i have no idea if its a clue to anything... i thought they were both doomed but a surprise duck pipped out one, good luck and hope you get an answer, i posted about this to and no one seemed to have any suggestions!

You mean when candling the eggs? A clear egg when candled has done nothing. If it's past the first few days this is likely a dud egg and if it's past about day 7-10 you can be pretty confident these eggs are no good unless they are very dark hard to candle shells. Eggs that are ready to hatch should be nearly all dark. There should be only tiny gaps of space that you can candle and on dark shelled eggs you may not be able to see anything. If they are only partially dark they either died or have not been incubated as long as the others. If you know they were all set the same time then eggs that are behind the others are no good and should be removed before they go bad and explode.

You can just see the shell underneath is turning a bit black and when candled there are some red spots almost by the air cell..they are on day 22...i thought everyone always said to keep eggs in the bator till at least day 23

Just be careful when you do pick it up...Id have a ziplock bag ready for that one to go into. You dont want the jostling around the pop it....

A voice of experience....
