She laid her second egg with no problems?! That is totally neat, good girl!

I'd still do what the vet told you. It's worked so far. Congrats on her recovery, but you don't want to risk it now.
 
We just had this happen too and we had to cull our hen. It was horrible. I admire
anyone tremendously who can get a hen through this! We were very upset
and started to try and save her but she was so sick..throwing up and miserable.
I just couldn't stand seeing her suffer any more.

That was my thought as well. Even though restricting her daylight hours may not be doing anything to stop her lay, that's something we don't know for sure and like bustermommy said, it's working.
