Which are the best egg laying breeds? I want ot get a few chickens, just as soon as I find out if they are even legal in my city.

I was thinking of 3 white Leghorns and 3 RIRs. Are dominiques good egg layers?

Buff Orpingtons are a nice friendly breed that lay quite well.

I'm not sure yet, but if I can get chickens, then I am considering 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 White leghorns, and 2-3 Easter Eggers.

You will get a nice variety of egg colors!

That's what I was hoping for! I've never eaten a blue egg that hasn't been dyed!
