This might sound like an odd question, forgive me, I'm a beginner!
My hen-house is up behind my house, and they have a little pen in front of their house to go outside. My garden and grassy area is down below and I'd like to make a little tractor that will allow them to forage with some protection away from their house/pen. My question is this, if I take them away from their house for a little wander around and they want to lay an egg, will they hold it until they get back to their house/nesting box? Will it upset their routine? They too are beginners, and just starting to lay so I don't want to upset them! They just really seem to want to get out and about and I'd love to give them the opportunity.
Thanks in advance for all of your help!

My hens always come running back to the coop to lay their eggs. If you are going to confine them in a tractor, might be a good idea to provide at least one nest box in one end of it.
