Tucking in my ladies last night
found 9 eggs and its 17 degrees ,
what a nice surprise..
I Have 5 hens ,
checked at noon and there
were none, some are doing double duty..
Is this normal I thought the production line shuts down in the colder weather..

It might be because the # of daytime hours are going up. I went from 6-7 eggs 2 weeks ago to 16-19. I am not complaining

My hens have been laying regularly all this winter, with no artificial light! Two of them are laying twice a day. They're 7 BR's and 1 RIR. Good girls!
