it is like a watched pot.
takes forever.
if you get busy with something else and stop thinking of it, it will happen.

ps: i hope you have at least 2 chickens, they are flock animals and happier with a friend.

plus then you get more eggs
look on craiglist for someone selling point of lay pullets and read about quarantine on this site

I have 6 chickens! xD Planing on hatching some next year!!

They should be laying soon, dont worry.
Sometimes the first eggs may not be in the nest box.
So don't forget to keep an eye under and behind things.

I kept having to take away their hiding places (between bales of hay was a big one) until they figured it out.
