My chickens are just now starting to lay. I got two out at 10am but got an odd feeling and went out to check and tthere was another egg. I don't refrigerate them so I'm wondering how long is too long or how hot is too hot?

Do you have a rooster?

I leave my fresh eggs on the counter and it's 80ish in here sometimes and they're fine. Eggs on the countertop are good for a remarkably long time.

The exception would be if you have a rooster and your house is getting above the mid 90's. Ideal temps for incubation of chickens are right around 100 but above 95 or so you might get a bit of development.

Since I have no rooster and it's not that hot here, I have no worries.

Do you wash your eggs?

I'm not washing them. And I have no roosters. I leave my eggs on the counter too but this one was left out in the coop
