Egg, Male or female?

I have heard that it is possible to see from the shape of the egg if the chic that will hatch will be male or female.

Can this be?

Vent sexing is the most accurate way of determining the sex of a chick. Even that is tricky, people that are trained to do it will not guarantee 100% accuracy.
