Egg or poop problem?

My six (older) hens just went through a hard molt. My Barred Rock hen is staying in the nesting box at night instead of the roost where the other girls are. This morning I found an egg and also a huge pile of poop that had an odor. I have been seeing poop in the nesting box lately but not like this. I apologize in advance if this is already a thread here

Could she broody? Does she growl and fluff when you get close?

I have a similar issue. Molly, previously the boss hoss, is apparently moulting and seems to have been knocked way down in the pecking order. She is isolating herself away from the others during the day. Her comb has shrunk and is dull. And now she has started sleeping in a nesting box at night. I do not know if she is eating normally. Is this normal moulting behavior, or could it be something worse? Should I leave her alone or try giving her some nutri-drench? Oh, and this is her (and all my girls') first true moult, as they will be 2 in February. I don't think she is broody, as she stays outside during the day (just by herself).

Not unusual for molting birds to act off but best to continue to keep an eye on how she's doing. A little Nutri-Drench won't hurt anything but she probably doesn't want to be touched.
