What’s wrong with my hen Red?

Upon my research I’m finding that aquasol and the goat dewormer are both 10% fenbendazole. So I’m unsure if I need to buy something else or if I should just give her the dose of Aquasol directly?

Just found the skin on her crop is half purple?

Poor thing! Looks like she may have suffered an injury of some type, this may be a contributor of her not feeling well.

Not sure how both can be 10% Fenbendazole when Aquasol© is 200mg/mL and Safeguard Goat Dewormer is 100mg/mL. Maybe some kind of funny new math I've never heard of.

I suppose you can use the Aquasol© if you wish, you'll just want to calculate out the correct dose at 50mg/kg.

Yes that’s why I haven’t separated her because she is still part of the flock. She gets treats (I do 5 grain scratch [which I limit so they still want to eat their feed] and mealworms. The only thing I’d separate at this point is to see if she’s laying or not and maybe to monitor her waste. But I’ll leave her for now.

Ok I’ll run to the feed store this morning for the dewormer. Is it ok to give it to her with the tums? Do you know if there’s a withdrawal period with it incase she is laying?

Lol yes trying to get crushed bits in a syringe is difficult and not enjoyable for anyone.

You seem very knowledgable. If you don’t mind me asking, do you have veterinary medicine background or just seasoned in chicken keeping?

Oh and also, yes her crop seems to be normal. Empty in the morning and full at night.

Goodness I misspoke- I haven’t been giving vagisil- I’ve been doing Monistat aka miconazole. I’ll give that to her orally also

Who knows. I was trying to figure out what I have and rapid researching trying to figure out what was what lol. I’m no expert lol. I felt very flustered this morning.
But I did end up finding the 100mg cream and calculated it for her individual weight.

Safeguard Equine Paste is also 10% Fenbendzole at 100mg/mL, so dosing is the same as the Goat Dewomer at 50mg/kg or 0.23ml per pound of weight given orally once daily for 5days in a row.

Safeguard Liquid Goat Dewormer 10%. Give her a dose at a rate of 0.23ml per pound of weight orally once daily for 5days in a row. This will treat most all worms that poultry can have except for Tapeworms.

That’s actually what I picked up (the equine). I saw they were the same dose as well.
