Hello my name is Jen And I’ve just joined your lovely forum. I’m looking for some advice for my 2 1/2-year-old chicken fran. About a month ago she showed egg peritonitis signs so I took it to the vet straightaway and they couldn’t drain any fluid from inside her and didn’t think there was any at that point she was eating well. She had a course of antibiotics baytril And also had a contraceptive implant fitted to stop her laying internally. A month on and she’s had a big moult Which is to be expected from the implant but she’s just not eating as much as she needs to, the vet has also given her a second course of antibiotics using Noroclav And that doesn’t seem to have made any changes to her appetite either. She seems quite happy in herself if out free range and she’s digging about and packing she’s just not quite got her appetite and I’m not really sure what I can do now to try and encourage her to eat more on her own. Any ideas anyone? Thanks so much, Jen

Try giving her some scrambled eggs with her normal food mixed in. Maybe some other treats like her normal food mixed with apple sauce. Just something exciting that she might get into eatting and sneak some of the good food in with it. Like sneaking carrots into spaghetti sauce for my kids lol. Just suggestions, i dont know much about the effects of that implant.
