Egg Popped

I'm fist time hatching anything in an incubator. Doing muskovy duck eggs. Been candling. One egg was alway darker than the others so I kept it cuz I could never see inside. Thinking it could be s different breed. Well for two days I think it had a crack cuz of a bit of crusty foam and didn't smell. It popped today and smelled awful. Always been dead? 99.5 and 49% humidity. Day 20

It may not have been fertile, maybe it was fertile, but never began to develop, or was a quitter. These things happen.
