Egg problems

One of my girls has been having trouble with her eggs lately and I wanted to see if anyone could help me figure out what's wrong with her and how to fix it. She is usually very consistent, but the last couple days have been no egg days followed by a soft shell yesterday, and today I found her egg and it just looks strange. The shell is mostly formed except for one spot where it looks like something went terribly wrong. I'll add the picture here and hope you guys might know how to help her get better.

She is a Rouen/Peking mix. Duck that is about a year old. She has been laying beautifully up to this point too. I'm more concerned about her health than the eggs themselves.

We are in Hawaii, and the climate is around 85 every day with a little more rain in the winter season that is coming up.

They free range a ton and always have food offered with oyster shell mixed in. Our other duck is perfectly healthy eating the same diet. It's a 30 percent protein game bird formula. Sometimes we also give them scrap ahi too.

I did notice her kind of cough or sneeze last week... Not sure if that is related at all.

I had a Runner lay an egg just like that one yesterday. I chalked it up to time of year and lack of daylight. My ducks and chickens have all cut way back in laying . And if she’s been laying good up until now no need to worry. 30% protein sounds pretty high. 20% is about right that’s what all flock carries an is formulated for all poultry and oyster shell on the side.

Thanks for the infos. I'm still a little worried because she is acting a little strange.

Today's egg looked all bumpy... And she looked like she was contracting her tail all afternoon yesterday and we'll into the evening.

Any ideas what might be going on with her, and what I can do to help? It couldn't have felt good to lay that egg this morning...

@Miss Lydia @DuckyDonna @WVduckchick @casportpony might be able to give more insight. Does she look uncomfortable? My rouen was acting strange and laying weird eggs sometime in late winter/early spring and one day she just didn't look comfortable so I felt her underside and she had what looked like egg white coming out so I gently massaged her underside and then gave her some calcium citrate. Next thing I know she had passed a broken egg and back to normal. She was having issues passing it I guess. She then took a break and is now laying perfect eggs again.

I think that's just extra calcium on the outside of the shell. I've had something like this before but not quite like that. I don't what causes it but I think it's just a breakdown in the egg factory but I've never been worried about it and it always seem to smooth out. Maybe someone else has another idea?

I know this is probably a stupid question but do ya'll have Tractor Supply there? if not maybe the feed store you use would have Calcium Gluconate? If you think there maybe another egg that needs to come out this is what vets use. You can give it orally. It's most likely in the cattler section @DuckyDonna can tell you all about it an how she gives it.

This is what you need to get if you think she's egg bound. I give 1 ml by syringe orally or put it over something you know she will gobble right up! Let me know if you want more information. I'll bet there is no Tractor Supply in Hawaii but you can get it on Amazon:
