This is my first time being a chicken mama. I have 6 RIRs, one being a rooster. My first pullet started laying January 1. As of today, I now have 4 layers. My forth laid her first egg today but it was misshapen. Is this normal for early egg laying? The egg on the left is from Spock who has been laying since the first and the one on the right is the new egg found today. Normal?

Anything goes with early eggs from new layers. Shape isn't that big a concern, but keep an eye on shell texture. Ripples and folds would be a signal something else is going on.

So far so good as far a texture. I do have one that has some calcium deposits but not sure why. I feed a flock raiser feed with egg shells or oyster shells on the side.
