My girls are just over a year old--14 months. They've gone through their first molt and are all laying wonderfully. Most times we have standard size eggs, however usually once a week we have an outstandingly large egg. Today when I went out to get eggs, there was a small one in the nesting box...now when I say small I mean about the size of a ball bearing!! I've never seen one this small. The girls I have are rhode island reds, barred rock, golden comets and light brahmas. I don't know which one laid it, but I am curious about the size of it...why is it so small, and any other information I can find out on egg size. Thank you!
